Yes. Students in the final year or final semester of graduation can apply provisionally, but if selected they must show they passed on or before the date in the notification (31 December 2026 for the 2026 cycle).
Yes. SBI clearly allows students in the final year or final semester of graduation to apply. The condition is that, if provisionally selected, you must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before the date given in the notification. For the 2026 cycle this date was 31 December 2026; for the 2025 cycle it was 31 December 2025.
What counts as the date of passing
The notification says the date of passing is the date printed on the mark sheet, certificate or provisional certificate issued by your university or institute. If your university only posts results on its website, you need a certificate from the appropriate authority stating the date on which the result was posted. That date is treated as your date of passing.
Why this matters in practice
- Prelims and Mains are usually held well before the cut-off (in the 2026 cycle, Prelims were in late September and Mains were tentatively in November), so you may clear both exams before your final result.
- SBI admits everyone to the exams on the basis of what they enter in the form and checks eligibility only at the joining stage. Clearing the exams does not protect you if your result comes after the cut-off date.
- A delayed university result is your risk. If your final semester exams are scheduled late, or if results are often delayed at your university, plan for it.
Integrated dual degree (IDD) students
If you are doing an integrated dual degree, the date of passing the IDD must be on or before the same cut-off date (31 December 2026 in the 2026 notification).
