Bank exams are online tests, so the most useful free preparation is also online: timed, on a screen, with a question palette and no paper shortcuts. Banker Anisha lets you practise and take SBI Clerk mocks in that format for free, from any browser.
Why online practice matters for bank exams
SBI Clerk Prelims and Mains are computer-based tests. You read the question on a monitor, click an option, and the section timer runs in the corner. Candidates who have only practised from books often lose time in the first few minutes just getting used to the screen.
Three habits are easier to build on screen than on paper:
- Reading off a monitor. A long reading comprehension passage feels different when you have to scroll.
- Using the palette. Jumping between questions, marking one for review and coming back to it.
- Working with a timer you cannot pause. Each Prelims section closes after 20 minutes and moves you on.
What you see when you practise here
Every mock on this site has the same tools you will use in the exam hall, plus a few that help you learn:
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Question palette | Shows answered, unanswered and marked questions at a glance |
| Mark for review | Flags a question so you can return before the section ends |
| Section timers | 20 minutes each in Prelims, separately timed sections in Mains |
| Autosave | Saves answers as you go, so a dropped connection does not wipe your test |
| Negative marking | −0.25 per wrong answer, as in the real exam |
| Results and solutions | Section-wise score, percentile among site users, and a solution for each question |
In topic practice (outside mocks) numeric answers are typed, not picked, and a rough-work pad sits beside the question.
A two-hour daily routine you can run in a browser
First 40 minutes: speed
One generated topic, such as simplification or number series. Because these questions are created with computed answers, you can do 40 fresh ones every day without repeating.
Next 40 minutes: one weak topic
Open the dashboard, pick the topic with the lowest accuracy, read its topic notes for ten minutes, then practise.
Last 40 minutes: a test
On three days a week take a sectional mock. On two days, a 30-question mini mock. On one day, a full Prelims mock. Keep one day for redoing the mistake book.
What online practice cannot replace
A screen will not do your rough work for you. In the exam you get rough sheets, so keep doing calculations on paper during full mocks and use the on-screen pad only during topic practice. Also keep reading the news offline or online every day for the General/Financial Awareness section of Mains.
And be careful with distraction. Close other tabs and put your phone in another room during a mock. A mock taken while replying to messages tells you very little.
Four mistakes people make with online practice
- Treating it like a quiz app. Answering a question, seeing green or red, and moving on. The learning is in the solution, so read it every time.
- Pausing the clock in their head. Getting up for tea halfway through a mock and "adding the time back". The exam will not let you, so do not let yourself.
- Only practising favourite topics. The dashboard shows topic-wise accuracy for a reason. If one topic has 40% accuracy and you keep avoiding it, it will cost you on exam day.
- Taking mock after mock without review. Two mocks a week with full analysis teach more than one a day with none. Use the section-wise result and the solutions page before starting the next one.
Getting started in ten minutes
- Open the free test and answer 12 questions with no account.
- Look at which section took longest.
- Sign up free, then go to the syllabus and start that section's highest-priority topic.
- Read the exam pattern guide once, so you know exactly what the timer will do on the day.
