How are mock tests scored on this site?

This websiteUpdated 2026-10-23
Short answer

Each correct answer earns the question's marks, each wrong answer loses a quarter of them, and skipped questions score zero, as in SBI's notified rule. In the Mains mock, Reasoning and Computer questions carry 1.2 marks, so a wrong one costs 0.3.

Scoring follows the rule in SBI's notification: one quarter of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer. Unanswered questions lose nothing.

Marks per question

MockSectionRightWrong
PrelimsAll sections+1−0.25
MainsGA, English, Quant+1−0.25
MainsReasoning and Computer (50 Q for 60 marks)+1.2−0.3

What the result page shows

  • Net score after negative marking, out of the maximum
  • Correct, wrong and skipped counts, and accuracy
  • Section-wise score, right/wrong/skipped and time used

Marked for review

As in the real exam, a question you answered and marked for review is counted when you submit. A question marked for review with no option selected counts as skipped.

Timing

Full mocks use sectional timers by default (20 minutes each in Prelims; 35, 35, 45 and 45 minutes in Mains), and you can switch to one shared clock if you want. Your answers are saved about every 15 seconds while you work, and an unfinished test can be resumed from the Mocks page. The clock counts from when you started, as in the real exam.

Worked examples

  • Prelims mock: 70 right, 10 wrong, 20 skipped gives 70 − 2.5 = 67.5 out of 100.
  • Mains Reasoning and Computer: 30 right, 5 wrong gives 36 − 1.5 = 34.5 out of 60.

Your score and the leaderboard

Your best submitted full Prelims and Mains mock scores appear on the leaderboard under your display name. Mini, sectional and custom tests are scored the same way but are not part of the leaderboard.

Every answer you give in a mock also counts in your topic accuracy and projected score, and wrong ones go to your mistake book.
