SBI lets final-year and final-semester students apply provisionally, and a candidate with a pending backlog is in the same position: you are not yet a graduate. How SBI judges the date of passing
The date of passing is the date on your final mark sheet, certificate or provisional certificate. If the result was posted only on the university website, a certificate from the university stating the date of posting is accepted. With a backlog, it is usually the date of the result of your last cleared paper that matters, because that is when your degree becomes complete.

Why the risk is real
SBI lets everyone take the exam on the basis of the information in the form and checks eligibility only at joining. Clearing Prelims and Mains does not help if your degree is not complete by the cut-off. False information can also lead to cancellation even after appointment.
