How long does the whole SBI Clerk recruitment process take, from notification to joining?

From notification to final result, the last two completed SBI Clerk cycles took about six to seven months.

After the final result

Joining is not immediate. After the result, provisionally selected candidates go through:

1. Submission of biodata and documents
2. Local Language Proficiency Test, if needed
3. Document verification, medical examination and Know Your Employee (KYE) formalities, including disclosure of criminal cases and possible police verification
4. Offer of appointment and joining at the allotted branch

SBI does not publish a fixed joining timeline in the notification, and it can differ by State. Plan for a few more months after the result.

For the 2026 cycle

Registration opened on 11 August 2026 and Prelims was held on 26 and 27 September 2026. Mains is tentatively in November 2026. If the 2025-26 pace repeats, the final result could come in early 2027, but SBI has not announced this.
