What happens after I am selected in the SBI Clerk final result?

Being in the final result list means you are provisionally selected. Several steps remain before you join.

Steps after the result

1. Biodata and documents: SBI posts a biodata format or link on the careers page. Fill it carefully and keep scanned copies of all certificates ready.
2. Local Language Proficiency Test: only if your 10th or 12th mark sheet does not show the specified local language. Failing it means no appointment.
3. Eligibility verification: age, graduation (passed by the cut-off date, for example 31 December 2026 for the 2026 cycle), category certificates and other details are checked against your online application.
4. Medical fitness: appointment is subject to your being declared medically fit as per the Bank's requirements.
5. KYE and background checks: Know Your Employee formalities, a declaration of any pending criminal cases, and possible independent verification including police records.
6. Offer of appointment and joining: posting is in the State you applied for.

Documents to keep ready

• 10th certificate (date of birth) and all graduation mark sheets and certificate
• Caste certificate (SC/ST), OBC non-creamy layer certificate with the date range given in the notification, or EWS Income and Asset Certificate
• PwBD or ex-servicemen certificates, if applicable
• Photo ID and copies of your application photo (SBI advises keeping about 8)
• Discharge certificate from your employer if you work in a government office, PSU or nationalised bank

What can still go wrong

• Graduation not completed by the cut-off date
• Certificates issued outside the date range in the notification (OBC/EWS)
• Information in the application found to be false or suppressed
• Failing the language test

Any of these can cancel your candidature, and the notification says services can be terminated even after appointment if a shortcoming is found later.
